Absa Branch Code 2026

One universal code for every Absa account.

Updated β€’ By Naledi van der Merwe β€’ Fact-checked

The Universal Code

Absa uses ONE universal branch code for all accounts:

632005
Valid for EFTs
Valid for Salary Payments
Valid for All Absa Accounts

It's simpler than it used to be

Older banking systems gave each Absa branch its own code. Today Absa uses a single universal branch code β€” 632005 β€” for every account, regardless of where it was opened. You no longer have to ask the recipient which branch they belong to.

Do I need a specific Absa branch code?

For domestic EFTs, salary payments, debit orders and stop orders, the universal code 632005 works for any Absa account in South Africa.

The only place a specific branch code may still be requested is on very old payment forms or some international remittance systems. In those cases, the recipient can find their original branch code in the Absa app under Account details.
